Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation, Doctor of Philosophy
Amy Durtschi
Amy Durtschi is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPCC-S) and Outcomes Researcher who combines clinical expertise with a deep passion for helping people navigate life's most difficult seasons with hope, compassion, and evidence-based care.
Amy specializes in supporting adults facing chronic illness, cancer diagnoses, health anxiety, fear of disease recurrence or progression, grief, trauma, and significant life transitions. She is especially passionate about working with women navigating breast cancer, chronic health conditions, peri- and postmenopause, postpartum experiences, and the emotional challenges that often accompany major changes in life.
Known for her warm, validating approach, Amy believes every person deserves to feel seen, heard, and accepted. She strives to help clients regain optimism while building the resilience needed to weather life's storms.
Amy believes therapy begins by meeting people exactly where they are—with compassion, curiosity, and without judgment. She sees herself as someone who walks alongside clients as they navigate difficult experiences, offering validation, encouragement, and hope throughout the healing process.
Her approach is grounded in the belief that people heal when they feel genuinely understood. Amy creates a safe environment where clients can openly process their experiences while discovering their own resilience and capacity for growth.
Drawing from EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, she tailors treatment to each individual's unique needs. Whether someone is coping with trauma, grief, health concerns, or life transitions, Amy focuses on helping clients move forward with greater confidence, self-compassion, and emotional well-being.

A Bit Outside the Office
Amy describes herself as an optimist who genuinely loves life. She enjoys trying new experiences, embracing challenges, and sharing a good laugh whenever possible.
Outside of work, she feels most grounded spending time outdoors with family and friends. An avid runner, cyclist, hiker, and sports enthusiast, she values staying active and connected with the people she loves. She also enjoys reading and rarely ends the day without reading at least one chapter of a good book.
